UK-Based Nigerian Nurse Kelvin Ossai Releases Inspirational Country-Style Rendition of ‘O Holy Night’

Fellow Nurses Africa News 12 December 2025

A UK-based Nigerian nurse and multitalented creative, Kelvin Ossai, has released a moving new interpretation of the timeless Christmas classic “O Holy Night.” The track, unveiled on 10 December 2025, offers a refreshing country-inspired twist on the beloved carol, blending soft acoustic guitars, warm harmonies and heartfelt vocal delivery.

Known online as “The Male Nurse”, Mr Ossai preserves the beauty of the original opening verse and chorus while introducing an original second verse, written by him, that deepens the song’s message of hope, compassion and gratitude—values that resonate strongly within the global nursing community.

Kelvin Ossai is licensed to practise nursing in Nigeria, the United Kingdom and the United States. He holds a Master of Public Health and works actively as a health coach, using his platform to advocate for nurse welfare and professional development. His work and influence have been highlighted by UNICEF Nigeria, Fellow Nurses Africa, Business Insider, and Nursing Times.

Beyond the clinical world, Kelvin has steadily built a name in the music industry. His musical journey began as a choir director during his nursing studies at the University of Port Harcourt. He has since released the EP Yours Truly and several singles, including Falling (March 2025) and the soulful R&B track Every Moment (October 2025). Earlier this year, he performed as an opening act for Johnny Drille at London’s iconic KOKO Camden, thrilling an audience of more than 1,500 people.

Speaking on the inspiration behind his Christmas release, Kelvin shared:

“My hope is that this song reminds us all to spread a little more kindness and love this season. Let’s look out for one another.”

A message perfectly aligned with the spirit of nursing—and the essence of the holiday season.
