In a statement released on Thursday, the college categorically stated that Miss Stella Makuochukwu Eze and Mrs Joy Chisimdili Ezeugwu are not nursing students. They are enrolled in the institution’s 18-month programme designed to qualify participants as health care assistants or technicians.

The video, uploaded on 28 March 2026 via Mrs Ezeugwu’s Facebook account, was recorded during the students’ first day of clinical posting at the state-owned hospital. It showed challenging night-shift conditions, including lack of electricity, running water, adequate sanitation, cleaning staff and reliable oxygen supply even as a woman was reported to be in labour.

The disclaimer, signed by the college management, described the content as expressing only the personal opinions of the two students and labelled their actions as “unprofessional”.
