Jonty Bravery, 24, has been found guilty of assaulting two nurses at Broadmoor high-security psychiatric hospital.

The attack took place in September 2024.

Bravery kicked nurse Kate Mastalerz in the thigh.

He clawed nurse Linda McKinlay’s face, causing scratches and bleeding down her cheek.

The incident started around 9:30 p.m. when Bravery asked to use the toilet.

He then tried to climb a ledge.

Nurses restrained him on his mattress.

Body-worn camera footage showed the struggle.

Other staff rushed in to help.

McKinlay, a grandmother with long experience at Broadmoor, said it was the first time she had been attacked there.

She received hospital treatment for her injuries.

Mastalerz described the situation as very stressful and was left with a bruised thigh.

Bravery is serving a life sentence with a minimum of 15 years for attempted murder in 2019.

He was convicted of the nurse assaults at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in November 2025.

Sentencing is scheduled for Thursday.

In 2020, Bravery received a 14-week sentence for a previous assault on Broadmoor staff.

Bravery requires 24-hour monitoring by three staff members.

His room contains only a mattress.
