A nurse with 25 years of experience has been removed from the professional register after a Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) panel found he sexually assaulted a junior colleague on multiple occasions.

Syam Teeluck worked at a facility run by Hywel Dda University Health Board in Wales.

The panel found proved that Teeluck:

  • Pulled the colleague into a cold room and medication room and attempted to kiss her
  • Placed his hand down her trousers on several occasions
  • Pulled her hand to a wet patch in his groin area and said words to the effect of “See, that is your fault”
  • Sent unwanted social media messages of a sexual nature, including requests for sex

The incidents occurred during night shifts when no one else was around.

The panel ruled Teeluck’s actions were sexually motivated and amounted to serious misconduct.

They created an intimidating, hostile, degrading and humiliating environment for the victim.

Teeluck denied some allegations but admitted others during the hearing, which ran through 2024 and 2025.

The panel found limited insight or remorse on his part.

The NMC struck Teeluck off the register on 27 November 2025.

An interim suspension order will become permanent unless appealed within 28 days.

Dyfed Powys Police investigated but brought no criminal charges.

Hywel Dda University Health Board stated it takes staff safety seriously and reviews support arrangements when concerns arise.

Teeluck specialised in nursing people with learning disabilities and had an unblemished record before these events.
