Bemi’s journey began in Nigeria, where the seeds of her compassionate calling were sown. Arriving in the United Kingdom 33 years ago, she embraced the challenges of a new world with the quiet strength emblematic of African diaspora nurses. As a mental health nurse, her days are filled with sacred acts of listening, healing, and restoring dignity—embodying African excellence in healthcare with empathy, cultural sensitivity, and an unwavering commitment to holistic care. Her work reflects the heart of nursing: a ministry of presence that uplifts the human spirit in its most vulnerable moments.
Yet, it is as “Bus Aunty” that Bemi has become a global icon, her serene TikTok videos transforming London’s red buses into vessels of memory and possibility. With a warm smile, she captures these buses gliding past landmarks—bridges, red telephone booths, Big Ben—in silent, eloquent clips that radiate authenticity. Her love for London’s transport is deeply personal: she met her late husband on a double-decker bus during her early commutes, their love blossoming until his passing from cancer in 2023. Honoring his memory, Bemi vowed to live fully, turning grief into a canvas of joy. Partnering with Transport for London and Mayor Sadiq Khan, she championed 2,000 zero-emission buses, making sustainability personal and inspiring.
Her work with Ikea wove home comforts into her bus adventures, while JBL Audio UK amplified her message. City Sightseeing, MyUnidays, Lingawa, Wowcher, and Alton Towers embraced her joyful spirit, with campaigns ranging from city tours to playful rollercoaster rides.
The pinnacle of her success came with Burberry’s Fall 2025 “Back to the City” campaign, where Bemi, dubbed “our fare lady,” starred alongside models on an open-top bus, celebrating London’s multicultural spirit.
