Abeokuta, Nigeria – Nurses Protest Alleged Assault and Suspension at Neuropsychiatric Hospital.

Nurses at Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta, are actively protesting outside the facility as of 1:08 PM BST today, Friday, July 18, 2025, in response to the alleged assault of student nurse Ogunjobi Oluwaseyi Samuel by senior doctor Dr. A.A. Majekodunmi on June 30, 2025, and his subsequent suspension.

The demonstration, led by the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), Aro branch, features nurses singing powerful protest songs and waving banners with messages like “Justice for Oluwaseyi” and “End Nurse Abuse.” The vibrant scene, filled with chants and colorful displays, underscores their demand for accountability and a fair investigation. The hospital has yet to issue an official statement.
