NDDCCN 2026: Student nurses can win ₦500,000 and submit research on medication safety
FNA News, Lagos Nigeria. June 15th, 2026.
Nigerian student nurses now have two major opportunities under the National Drug Dosage Calculation Competition for Nurses (NDDCCN) 2026 to develop their skills and contribute to patient safety.
The sixth edition of the competition, organised by the Foundation for Medication Safety, offers a ₦500,000 grand prize for the best performers in drug dosage calculations. At the same time, the NDDCCN Bootcamp 2026 is inviting nurse-led research abstracts focused on medication safety and antimicrobial resistance.

Organisers say the dual initiative is designed to strengthen both the practical and academic capabilities of future nurses in addressing critical healthcare challenges.
Drug Dosage Calculation Competition
The main competition tests nursing students’ accuracy and speed in calculating drug dosages, a core competency in clinical practice. The winner will receive ₦500,000, with additional prizes for top performers.
The contest is open to nursing students in accredited institutions across Nigeria who are not in their final year and have not previously won the NDDCCN.
Registration is currently open and closes on 30 June 2026. A fee of ₦3,000 applies. Students can register via the official portal at https://bit.ly/nddccn2026.
Research Abstracts – NDDCCN Bootcamp 2026
In addition to the competition, the NDDCCN Bootcamp 2026 is accepting research abstracts from student nurses. The research must focus on medication safety or antimicrobial resistance.
Abstracts should be no more than 300 words and must follow a clear structure: Background, Aim, Methods, Results, and Conclusion with implications for nursing. Submissions must also include a proposed research budget, and a nurse must serve as the lead author.
The research component aims to encourage evidence-based contributions to safer healthcare practices in Nigeria.
How to participate
Students interested in the drug dosage competition can register at the link above. Those wishing to submit research abstracts should contact the organisers directly for submission guidelines.
The Foundation for Medication Safety has emphasised that improving medication safety and tackling antimicrobial resistance require both skilled practitioners and robust research. The 2026 programme provides a platform for student nurses to engage in both areas.
Both the competition and research abstract submissions close on 30 June 2026.
