Missing Nurse Alert: Help Us Bring Home Student Nurse Dora Erhi

Benin City, Nigeria – 12 February 2026

The Department of Nursing Sciences at the University of Benin (UNIBEN) has issued an urgent public appeal after one of its students, Miss Dora Erhi, was reported missing.

According to the department’s statement, Miss Erhi was last seen on 5 February 2026 at the university’s Ugbowo Campus in Benin City, Edo State. Efforts by family, friends, and university authorities to contact her or establish her whereabouts have so far been unsuccessful.

The case has prompted widespread concern within Nigeria’s nursing and student communities, with the alert circulating rapidly on social media platforms including X, Facebook, and Instagram since early today. No official police statement has been released at the time of publication, and the matter remains under active inquiry by university officials.

Anyone with information – including sightings, communications, or other relevant details – is urged to contact the numbers provided by the department without delay:

  • 📞 0807 176 1161
  • 📞 0803 064 7835

The safety of students, particularly young women pursuing professional training in healthcare, remains a pressing concern in Nigerian tertiary institutions. Incidents of this nature underscore the importance of community vigilance, prompt reporting, and robust campus security measures.

Fellow Nurses Africa, a platform dedicated to supporting and advocating for the nursing profession across the continent, stands in solidarity with the University of Benin community and Miss Erhi’s family during this anxious time. We encourage all nurses, healthcare workers, students, and members of the public – especially in Edo State and surrounding areas – to share this alert responsibly and remain alert to any possible leads.

Further updates will be provided as credible information becomes available. Our thoughts are with Miss Erhi and those close to her.
