In a remarkable show of support for Nigeria’s healthcare sector, Peter Obi has donated ₦10 million to the College of Nursing, Oluyoro Catholic Hospital, Ibadan.

During his visit, he emphasized the urgent need for a “comprehensive overhaul” of the nation’s health system, while ensuring that this donation directly enhances teaching, learning facilities, and the training of nurses.

Peter Obi’s commitment to nursing education spans the country. Some of his notable contributions include:

  • ₦20 million to two nursing colleges: ₦10 million each to Holy Rosary College of Nursing, Ahiara (Imo) and College of Nursing Sciences, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Ihiala (Anambra).

  • ₦15 million to St. Philomena College of Nursing Sciences, Benin City.

  • ₦10 million to Faith Nursing College, Nsukka, for infrastructure upgrades.

  • Additional donations to Anglican School of Nursing Sciences, Oji River, Holy Rosary School of Nursing and Midwifery, Emekuku, and School of Nursing, Adazi-Nnukwu.

Each of these donations reflects his vision of a strong, well-equipped healthcare workforce capable of serving communities nationwide.

We celebrate His Excellency, and Former Governor, Peter Obi for investing in Nigeria’s future nurses, the backbone of our healthcare system. His dedication sets a standard and inspires others to contribute meaningfully to the growth of Nigeria.
