Ohio Man Charged After Alleged Assault on Disabled Woman at Nursing Home

A shocking case in North College Hill, Ohio, has left residents and healthcare workers horrified after police arrested Remeri Jeter, 29, on allegations of sexually assaulting a disabled woman near a nursing home.

According to court documents, Jeter was caught on surveillance footage attempting to enter a locked section of the facility while trespassing on Friday, October 10, 2025. Investigators say he later pulled the victim by her wrist behind a building, where the assault allegedly occurred.

He now faces multiple charges, including rape, gross sexual imposition, unlawful restraint, and burglary.

Criminal History Raises Concerns

Court records show that Jeter has a lengthy criminal record with previous convictions for disorderly conduct, trespassing, and aggravated menacing.

In 2022, he faced additional charges of sexual imposition, resisting arrest, and criminal trespass—some of which were dismissed—but he was found guilty of aggravated menacing and disorderly conduct.

He also violated probation by tampering with his electronic monitoring device and was previously found incompetent to stand trial in 2017. Despite repeated offenses, he was released after serving brief jail terms.

Community and Legal Reactions

Local residents and advocates have expressed anger and frustration, calling for stricter supervision of offenders with histories of violence or mental health issues.

“This is exactly why nursing home security must be taken seriously,” one resident told reporters. “Patients with disabilities should never be left vulnerable to such danger.”

Judge William Mallory set Jeter’s bond at $60,000 (10%), while investigators continue gathering evidence.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the case remains under active investigation.

Broader Implications

The incident has reignited discussions around nursing home safety, background checks, and security protocols for healthcare facilities across Ohio. Advocates are calling for better surveillance, trained security personnel, and improved reporting systems for at-risk patients.

As the investigation continues, this case serves as a sobering reminder of the need for stronger protection and oversight in long-term care facilities—especially for those who cannot protect themselves.
