LAGOS, Nigeria – July 7, 2025 – His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has confirmed Alhaji Ndagi Al-Hassan as the permanent Registrar/Secretary-General of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
The announcement, made today, transitions Al-Hassan from his role as acting registrar to the permanent leadership of the nation’s premier regulatory body for nursing and midwifery.

In an exclusive telephone interview with Fellow Nurses Africa correspondent this morning, Alhaji Ndagi Al-Hassan expressed profound gratitude for the confirmation, describing it as “a new dawn in nursing.” He reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the profession through rigorous regulation, enhanced professional development, and elevated standards of practice to strengthen healthcare delivery across Nigeria.
