UK African Community Mourns Dr. Fortune Gomo’s Murder, Demands Justice in Dundee
At approximately 4:25 p.m. on July 5, 2025, tragedy struck the African community in Scotland, UK when Dr. Fortune Gomo, a distinguished PhD scholar who recently earned her doctorate from the University of Dundee, was brutally murdered on South Road, Dundee.
The devastating incident occurred as Dr. Gomo, believed to be in her 30s, walked alongside her 10-year-old daughter.
Despite the swift response of paramedics, the accomplished academic was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving behind a grieving community and a child who witnessed the horrific attack.

“I’m speaking boldly because I don’t mind. This is about that innocent woman who was murdered, someone who was going to support the Dundee community. She was a doctor, just graduated with a PhD from Dundee University. She had so much to offer.”
Another community member voiced their dismay: “It’s past 10 p.m., and still no statement from the police. If the roles were reversed, this would be on every front page by now.”
Detective Superintendent Peter Sharp, leading the investigation, issued a statement acknowledging the tragedy: “My thoughts are with the woman’s family at this time… I am satisfied that the incident has been contained and there is no wider risk to the public.”
