A 30-year-old man has died at The Moon Hospital, a private facility between the new bus stand and Gate Bazaar in Berhampur, India.
Vijay Pradhan from Tumbagad village under Jarada police station was injured in an accident two days earlier.
He received initial treatment at Tumba Medical before being brought to Berhampur.
A hospital staff member convinced the family to admit him to The Moon Hospital.
Doctors prepared him for surgery on Saturday night.
Family members say his condition worsened rapidly after anesthesia was given.
Hospital authorities then arranged an ambulance and transferred him to Berhampur Medical College.
Doctors there declared him dead on arrival.
Relatives allege the wrong anesthesia caused the death.
They also claim staff forced signatures during the emergency.
After the post-mortem, the family and relatives protested outside the hospital.
They demanded strict action against the doctors and compensation.
The protest drew support from local representatives, including a delegate of the Berhampur MP.
Authorities evacuated all patients from the hospital.
They then sealed the premises.
The case has raised concerns about accountability in private healthcare.
