NNUK 5.0 Hangout 2025: A Heartwarming Celebration Begins in Southampton.
Southampton, UK – It’s Friday, July 11, 2025, and the air is thick with anticipation as members of the Nigerian Nurses UK (NNUK) community gather in Southampton for the soul-stirring NNUK 5.0 Hangout 2025! Now in its fifth year, this interest group born from a platform connecting over 5,000 Nigerian nurses promises a weekend (July 11th-13th) filled with love, laughter, and tender memories.
Led by the passionate Local Organizing Committee (LOC) chairman and this year’s driving force, Mr. Osayande Osas, the highlights—the heartfelt NNUK Night Party and the emotional Fake Wedding Party—are already drawing nurses home to Southampton. With suitcases packed with hope and traditional outfits, they arrive, hearts open, ready to reconnect.
A Theme Born from the Heart
The theme, “Fake Wedding,” emerged from a member poll, a gentle reminder to nurture bonds beyond the hospital’s cold walls. Mr. Osas shared with Fellow Nurses Africa, “We chose this to celebrate love and belonging—things that heal our hearts and souls, not just our patients.” Building on the warmth of last year’s Manchester gathering (NNUK 4.0), this theme invites a weekend of unity and fun.
NNUK Night Party: A Night of Dance and Shared Stories.
Tonight at 10:00 PM, the NNUK Night Party will illuminate Southampton with warmth. Picture nurses in stylish casual or semi-formal attire, swaying to Afrobeat rhythms inspired by Wizkid and Davido, their faces lighting up with memories of Manchester’s dance floors. The event’s social media team will share live updates via a unique hashtag, linking nurses worldwide through reels and tweets. It’s a night to hold each other close, share laughter, and let the music mend tired spirits.
Fake Wedding Party: Love, Laughter, and Growth.
On Sunday, July 13th, at 11:00 AM, the journey continues at 80 Peartee Rd, Bitterne, Southampton, with the NNUK Fake Wedding Party. Imagine nurses adorned in elegant agbada and gele, playfully wearing bridal veils and groom suits, their mock vows bringing smiles and misty eyes.
Beyond the joy, a renowned nursing doctor from Birmingham University will offer heartfelt career advice, while networking breaks over egusi soup and pounded yam foster deep connections—blending celebration with a touch of professional healing.
Picnic & Games: A Portsmouth Reunion Tomorrow.
Tomorrow at 11:00 AM, the NNUK Picnic & Games moves to Portsmouth, offering a tender escape. While last year’s event featured the spirited interhouse sports with Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow houses reviving school-day rivalries, this year’s activities will focus on bringing the community together through fun and games.
