Nigerians in shock as viral video exposes possible quack nurse at Military Hospital Ikoyi
A new video making rounds on social media, recorded by the popular street interviewer Egungun of Lagos, has set the internet ablaze and for good reason.

In it, a 22-year-old lady boldly confesses she studied Medical Laboratory Sciences at Igbinedion University but now works as a nurse at the Military Hospital Ikoyi, lagos, one of Nigeria’s most respected federal institutions.
When asked to identify bones like the femur, radius, and humerus, her response?
“I don’t know.”
She even admits:
“I’m not a nurse. I’m a medical laboratory scientist. But yes, I work as a nurse at the Military Hospital.”
Excuse me, what?!

Military Hospital Ikoyi: A Home for Quack Nurses?
This shocking confession raises serious questions:
- Is the Nigerian military hospital system hiring unqualified personnel?
- Is patient safety being jeopardized at one of Lagos’ most secure medical facilities?
- What is the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria doing about this?
This isn’t just a case of confusion — it’s a possible crime. Practicing as a nurse without the required license is a criminal offense and a major form of healthcare quackery in Nigeria.

How Did She Get Hired Without a Nursing License?
Her video confession is damning:
- No understanding of basic anatomy.
- Admits her favourite course was biology — then quickly changes her mind.
- Can’t define chemistry, a core science required in her alleged field.
Why This Is a Big Deal
Let’s be clear:
Medical Lab Scientists are not Nurses.
Nurses are not Medical Lab Scientists.
They are licensed by different regulatory councils, trained for different roles, and cannot cross paths professionally without proper education and licensure.
So, how is she practicing nursing duties at a top federal hospital?
Government and Regulatory Bodies Must Investigate
We call on:
- Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN)
- Lagos State National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM)
- Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN)
- Federal Ministry of Health
- Nigerian Military Health Board
To immediately:
- Investigate her employment history.
- Audit all staff qualifications at Military Hospital Ikoyi.
- Sanction everyone involved in the process from HR to supervisors.
This must not be swept under the rug.
What do YOU think? Should this “fake nurse” be arrested? Should Military Hospital Ikoyi be investigated immediately?
