Six Egyptian nursing specialists have arrived at Saku University in Japan to participate in an intensive training programme focused on nursing management, marking another milestone in the Egypt-Japan Education and Human Development Initiative.

The delegation represents key healthcare institutions across Egypt, including specialists from the General Administration of Nursing and hospitals in the New Administrative Capital, El Shorouk, and Beni Suef.

The programme aims to enhance both managerial and technical competencies while facilitating the transfer of international best practices to elevate Egypt’s healthcare service quality.

“The participants were selected according to strict criteria to ensure strong representation of Egypt’s nursing workforce,” said Hanady Mohamed, Head of the Medical Professions Development Sector.

Nevine Mohamed, Head of the General Administration of Nursing, emphasized that the initiative aims to prepare future nursing leaders capable of keeping pace with global advancements in healthcare.

Esraa Abouzeid, Director of Training Centres, highlighted that the partnership with Japan demonstrates the Ministry of Health’s commitment to expanding international cooperation in professional development.

The programme’s opening ceremony featured representatives from both Saku University and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), reflecting the depth of bilateral cooperation between the two nations.

One participating specialist expressed appreciation for the opportunity, pledging to implement the acquired knowledge to benefit Egypt’s healthcare system upon their return.

This initiative highlights the importance of investing in professional development and international partnerships to strengthen healthcare systems. Other countries should similarly embrace national professional recognition and development programmes to enhance their healthcare workforce capabilities and improve patient care outcomes.
