ILLEGAL NURSING TRAINING: A CANKERWORM TO NURSING PRACTICE IN NIGERIA

From a depressed, disappointed and  saddened heart comes the content of this episode.

The last institution to fail in a nation and to derail from her original function is supposed to be the living church of God. It was so drenching and painful to see the omega power ministry at the forefront of this corrupt and illegal act .

Jesus our perfect example established a perfect church before He left. The early churches were able to meet the inadequacies of their members by selling their properties to establish the less privileged amidst them. I believe this included sending members to schools to obtain academic knowledge while footing the bills not illicitly training quacks to become what they are not in the actual sense.

I cannot stop to wonder why on earth would some churches deviate from this wonderful plan. Early this morning , I received the macro shock of my life when I saw the video of the omega power ministry displaying the success of his so called three weeks training of “50 quacks” who he referred to as nurses.

Becoming a certified nurse warrants a formal and legalised nursing education either in an accredited school of nursing or a university but reverse is the case of the OPM church.

In an attempt to do good, pastor, you have successfully released incompetent healthcare personnel
not even qualified to be hospital aides into the society. It is just a pity that the health of Nigerians is at stake, due to easy accessibility and availability of auxiliaries rendering substandard services which is not evidenced based.

The entire members of the public should be reminded that an individual has a life to live. There is a very thin line between life and death. Don’t cross this line by patronizing unqualified and incompetent, uneducated and uncivilized health workers and most especially the presently dispatched quacks by omega power ministry and the widely available quacks in your society. Always be sure by asking your health givers for their licences.

You have the right to good health!!!

It is so disheartened that some group of people will be trained for just few weeks by an unqualified and uncertified NGO to put so many people life at risk and to destroy the health of our nation. All citizens of this country have the right to a good and quality health so don't be deceived and let's all fight against quackery and incompetency
