NMCN Releases March 2025 Midwifery Exam Results, Announces September Exam Dates

The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) has officially released the results of the March 2025 Professional Examination in Midwifery.

The announcement was made on March 15, 2025, following approval by the Coordinating Honourable Minister of Health and Social Welfare.

March 2025 Exam Performance

A total of 10,948 candidates successfully passed the exam, representing an 85% overall pass rate. Below is the breakdown of the results:

  • Post Basic Midwifery: 4,250 candidates passed (95% pass rate).
  • Basic Midwifery: 5,432 candidates passed (78% pass rate).
  • Basic Midwifery (Refresher Course): 13 candidates passed (72% pass rate).
  • Community Midwifery: 1,253 candidates passed (84% pass rate).

Registration and Licensing Guidelines

Successful candidates must visit the NMCN online portal (portal.nmcn.gov.ng) starting March 17, 2025, to complete their registration and licensing process.

  • Registration and payment must be completed within 90 days to avoid penalties.
  • Late registration will attract a fee of ₦16,250 after 90 days.
  • Failure to register within a year will result in an additional ₦6,562 penalty per year.

September 2025 Examination Announcement

The next Professional Examination in Midwifery will take place from Tuesday, September 9, to Friday, September 12, 2025.

Heads of nursing training institutions are required to submit the Examination Application Checklist (EAC) for the September 2025 exams to exams@nmcn.gov.ng on or before May 31, 2025. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Key Reminder

Candidates must check their results online and report any errors immediately to the Ag. Registrar/CEO. Complaints will not be entertained after 30 days from the result release date.
