A viral TikTok post has drawn attention to an online UK nursing degree. FNA News examines what the programme offers and what nurses should know before applying.
A viral TikTok post claiming that nurses can earn a UK BSc (Hons) in International Nursing from home has generated significant interest among nurses and nursing students.

The programme being promoted is real. It is the BSc (Hons) International Nursing [Progression Route], offered by the University of Suffolk through its partnership with Unicaf.
The University of Suffolk confirms that the programme is delivered online and that successful students receive a University of Suffolk award.
Who is it for?
The programme is designed as a progression route for qualified nurses, rather than an entry-level nursing programme.
Applicants are expected to have previous nursing education, nursing registration and relevant post-registration experience, subject to the programme’s admission requirements.
Students study areas including person-centred care, ethics, leadership, medicines management, complex care and research.

This is where nurses should exercise caution.
The viral post claims that the degree can be completed in one year and eight months or less. However, FNA News could not verify that timeframe as the standard duration from the official information currently available.
Prospective students should therefore confirm their individual programme duration directly with Unicaf before enrolling.
Is it really exam-free?
The programme is delivered online, but that does not mean students have no assessments.
Unicaf’s online learning model includes assignments and other academic activities that are formally assessed.
So, “no semester exams” should not be understood as “no assessments”.
Does the degree make someone a UK-registered nurse?
No.
Obtaining a University of Suffolk academic degree is different from obtaining professional registration to practise nursing in the UK.
Nurses who intend to work in the UK would still need to meet the relevant professional registration, employment and immigration requirements.

Before paying or enrolling, prospective students should confirm:
- Eligibility requirements
- Actual programme duration
