Trinity University’s Nurses Week 2025 Summit Prepares Student Nurses for a Tech-Savvy, Entrepreneurial Future
Lagos, Nigeria – May 22, 2025 | Trinity University came alive as the Nigerian Universities Nursing Student Association, Trinity Chapter (NUNSA TUC), kicked off Nurses Week 2025 with a forward-thinking Opening Summit. Themed “Future-Ready Nursing: How Next-Gen Nurses Thrive with Tech & Entrepreneurship,” the event highlighted a bold shift in nursing education and professional identity.

Game-Changing Conversations
Opening remarks from Mrs. Animashaun Faosat, Dean of Nursing, and Prof. Clement Kolawole, Vice Chancellor, emphasized the need to equip nurses with skills beyond the bedside—such as digital innovation, leadership, and business.


Keynote speaker Mrs. Aketi Olusola, Director of Nursing Services, Lagos State, inspired students to lead in policy, tech, and entrepreneurship. She emphasized that tomorrow’s nurses must be problem-solvers, not just caregivers.

All speakers were presented with Appreciation Awards in a heartfelt ceremony led by NUNSA TUC President Julius Anointing, the Vice President, and the Dean of Nursing. The gesture celebrated their mentorship and dedication to developing future nurse leaders.
