COMBINING ACADEMICS WITH FUN…..THE JUST CONCLUDED ABUAD NUNSA WEEK, 2018.

ABUAD 2018 NUNSA has come and gone but not without leaving an experience to relish for a long time to come.
The Nursing Students of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti celebrated their 3rd annual Nurses week, on the 13th-17th of February, 2018, it was a week of educative and fun-filled activities with the promotion of health and knowledge within the campus. The theme for this year’s NUNSA ABUAD week was‘Transforming Healthcare through Research and Evidence-based Practice’, with the guest speaker being Dr. J. O. Farounbi from the department of Nursing, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

The week kicked off with an awareness rally on Monday evening, followed by an interactive seminar and quiz session on Tuesday. A competitive and exciting day of sports and games took place on Wednesday and a free health clinic for the students and staff on campus, on Thursday. The activities of the free health clinic consisted of vital signs check, blood glucose test, body mass index check and counselling on health status.
The main event – the dinner/awards night, which took place on Friday, was the highlight of the week, with awards being presented to outstanding students and staff of the nursing department. A fun-filled picnic/ love feast took place on Saturday, with lots of games, entertainment, music and of course, free food! ‘Lol’.
The week finally ended with a hearty thanksgiving service on Sunday.
This year’s NUNSA ABUAD week was indeed one of the best ever experienced and we definitely can’t wait for the next. A special thanks to all the excos and organizers of the week, for a job well done.
